Durian - the King of all fruits

Today I'm honored and thankful for I was mentioned in ACT's post, a frequent visiting blogger of Durian Talk. Never in my "wildest" dream that I would thought someone would write about me ... especially when I've just started blogging. I would like to say a big big big gigantic Thank You to Andrea for your encouragement and your support. The posting about me was unnecessary ... though i admit that i like it very much. I would like to also mention the bloggers that gave me strength and inspiration, namely, Cindy, Ian, David, touch-n-go-without-leaving-comments-anonymous, my parents, my teachers, my ..... whoa... like giving the winning Oscar speech .... woo hoo!

Anyway, irregardless of what those "westerners" describe me, the King of all fruits, in ACT's post, I, the King of all fruits, would like to share with you what the holy guru who lives 2500 years ago in India, once said,

"Believe nothing because I have said it,
Believe nothing because the belief is generally held,
Believe nothing because someone else believes it,
But believe only that which you yourself discover to be true,
And let others have their own beliefs."

So, if you ever come to visit this part of the world, be adventurous, give yourself a chance to "take on" the King of all fruit, take a little bite and enjoy the rich texture and the exquisite taste. Don't let those comment affect your quest for great food!

Tips : Ask for the sweet type and then move on with the bitter-sweet ones ... whilst you crave for the King of all fruit ... listen to this great song

  1. Hey! That's me! On your blog! Did you know that????!!!! :-))) Thanks! What a great idea. I need to write about the good sites I visit as well!

And I love your belief section - very "Dalai Lama-ish." I very much follow the Eastern dogmas... I'm researching. One thing I know, however, is that you should only belief what "feel" rights and use your faith as tool in life, not as the ultimate answer for everything.

  3. It tastes like heaven but smell like hell-- that was the comment when I introduced durian to an American. Durian lovers enjoy both taste and smell.

  4. CC, yes, it's your blog. That quoted is from Buddha ... somehow I stumble upon it a few days back b4 i blogged this.

ACT, I was blog surfing and your blog just happened to "pop" up my screen and since i like your writing (where I can learn better English) and noticing that you just started blogging, selfishly me ... I know that you would reciprocate, just like Cindy. It worked didn't it!

PL, bro ... glad that you visited me. Yeap, I totally agree. I introduced durian to my kids when they were about 2 years old and before they even say about the smell, i took advantage of it and said "Wow, the smell is very nice, I love it, don't u think so, and bla bla bla... u know what ... they just nod after me. That's how I've converted my 2 princesses to become durian lovers.... hehehehe.
